Rail Wagon Maintenance & Repair

The NYMR Permanent Way Department has a dedicated special purpose thirty strong wagon fleet, which is based at New Bridge depot.

The annual ‘fitness to run ‘examination of these wagons their associated regular maintenance is carried out by the railway’s Carriage & Wagon Department, who also overhaul the vacuum brake cylinders at their Pickering station base.

The periodic full ‘general overhaul’ refurbishment of these wagons and any intermediate repair work that crops up, is handled by a volunteer team, which regularly meet on a Tuesday, plus other days as required. Contact: – Nick Carter by Clicking Here.
